Located in the quiet coastal village of Venus Bay, in Boonwurrung Country, Victoria, Australia, on the shoreline of the wild waters of Tayaritja / Bass Strait, EcOArt Retreat is a self-directed residency offering creatives, writers and researchers a place and space to work undisturbed and at their own pace.
The self-contained, 3 bedroom mid-century coastal beach house provides residents with simple comforts of living in a beautiful, calming natural environment that touches the sea and stretches along an uninterrupted shoreline from the river inlet of the Tarwin, to the majestic Yiruk/Wamoon [Wilson's Promontory] whose rugged ancient coastline once connected mainland Australia with the Island of Lutruwita [Tasmania].
Included as a shared creative workspace is the large 6m x 6m studio that looks out across majestic dunes and expansive tidal wetlands.
Two residency places are made available at any one time, each with their own private double bedroom, and shared bathroom.
The home and studio are owned and operated by visual artist and educator, Donna Wright, who offers her space to other like-minded creatives / researchers when she is traveling and working in other locations in Australia and overseas. Residencies are offered in 1 month blocks up to 3 months and places are limited by availability.
All-inclusive residency fee is $1600AUD per 1 month period.
